Hi, I'm Bobbi Newman, I’m the Digital Services Librarian at the Missouri River Regional Library. I spend my time: managing MRRL’s Social Web endeavors & ensuring our patrons get the online services they want.  I also manage database subscriptions, working the reference desk, collection development, teach patrons and library staff about the Social Web, helping with public programs like game days, serving on too many committees to count, writing  Library Learning 2.1 lessons and filling anywhere else I’m needed.

I blog at Librarian by Day.  Why the name Librarian by Day?  It’s a reference to the traditional duties people associate with Librarian, books, reference, reader’s advisory, etc. Sure I’m a Librarian by Day, but by night I’m a: trainer, computer nerd wanna be, techno geek, community builder, activities coordinator, book lover, amateur photographer, explorer, negotiator, writer, presenter, thinker, guide, student, leader, gamer, network builder, team player, cheerleader, coach and all around geek. If that isn’t enough then if being a librarian by day is good enough for Barbara Gordon, then it’s good enough for me

In my spare time I try to keep up on Web happenings, read other blogs, attend conferences, unconferences and workshops, write this blog, present about the Social Web, Learning 2.0, Learning 2.1 any anything else I’m asked to, and occasionally read a book or two.
